Alix Holloway works with each client directly to establish their goals, set a realistic budget and compile a sensible timeline. Through access and established relationships with a vast international network of trusted galleries, private dealers, and auction houses, we negotiate on behalf of our clients, so that the client has the opportunity to make the most informed decisions to acquire the right works at the best price. 

Appraisals

With years of direct market experience and having completed extensive specialized training, Alix Holloway offers comprehensive well-researched appraisal services in the area of Modern, Post-War and Contemporary Art. She is compliant with the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP), and is an Associate Member of the Appraisers Association of America in good standing. In accordance with the Association’s highest level of professional standards, she delivers independent, ethical, and objective valuations for insurance, estate tax, charitable donation, equitable distribution, asset planning and liquidation purposes.

Research

As an Art Historian, Alix Holloway brings a scholarly focus, approach and criticality to evaluate art in terms of quality and rarity within the artists’ oeuvre and the overall style or period, as well as to articulate relationships among works within a collection. AH Arts has a vast library of several thousand volumes of exhibition catalogues, monographs, and catalogue raisonnes that are in constant use to verify provenance and confirm a work’s literature and exhibition history. She knows who the appropriate authenticators are for each artist, and has a history of successfully liaising with Artist Foundations and individual experts to receive the proper certificates, documentation or acknowledgements. 

This academic rigor is combined with ongoing international art market analysis to confirm the most current, accepted and credible authorities are consulted to provide a richer understanding of the work. We offer a breadth and depth of information through guidance so that our clients can make the best decisions based on historical relevancy, price sensitivity and market desirability.

Collection Management

With a trusted network of service providers, we work to safeguard the value of our clients’ art by managing the archiving, care, handling, and storage of art overtime. Our services not only include coordinating framing, transportation, conservation, installation, photography, and lighting considerations. They also extend to building custom bases for sculptures, overseeing loan agreements and logistics, or any other specific tasks as needed to meet the demands of a particular artwork, client or project.  

Estate Planning

In planning for the future, AH Arts recognizes that art collections can be responsible for a significant proportion of one's financial assets. We help develop a strategic plan to generate adequate liquidity, manage risks and satisfy the different needs of private clients as well as those of their heirs, executors, and trustees. Whether implementation of an Estate plan is immediate or years down the line, we assure everyone involved has information, tools and resources to ensure it is a smooth process.

Sales

When looking to deaccession a single work or an entire estate, AH Arts manages every aspect of the sale from start to finish. As each piece and situation is different, a tailored individual approach is applied to maximize the value. Our clients rely on our expert analysis on timing, strategy and the most advantageous venue, whether that be through auction or private channels. We serve as a single point of contact throughout the process by providing comparable sales data, negotiating preferential terms, reviewing and executing contracts, and following up on payment.
